Delivered new to the South Australian Government in September 1989, the Silver Lady was commissioned as the official Vice-Regal vehicle for Governor Lieutenant General Sir Donald Dunstan.
Throughout her years of Government House service, she carried the Governor to official engagements, civic ceremonies and distinguished occasions across South Australia.

Built at Crewe for a Life of Service
The Silver Lady was constructed at the famous Rolls-Royce Motor Cars factory at Crewe, England, in May 1989 before arriving in Adelaide later that year.
She was supplied under the long-standing arrangement between the South Australian Government and United Motors, Adelaide’s authorised Rolls-Royce distributor, where the Governor’s official vehicle was regularly replaced to ensure Government House maintained the highest standards of presentation.
Every detail reflected the craftsmanship, refinement and understated elegance expected of Rolls-Royce.

Why The Silver Spur Became A Legend
When Rolls-Royce introduced the Silver Spur in 1980, it represented a new generation of British luxury motoring.
Purpose-built as the long-wheelbase companion to the Silver Spirit, it quickly became the preferred choice for diplomats, Heads of State, Government Houses and professional chauffeur service throughout the world.
Its legendary 6.75-litre V8 engine delivered effortless performance, while advanced self-levelling hydropneumatic suspension created what owners affectionately describe as the famous “magic carpet ride.”
